Her i 2017 gælder det Jens Lekmans fjerde studiealbum, “Life Will See You Now”.

Interview med Jens Lekman
What can the audience expect from the show at VoxHall?
“I think all our shows are attempts to turn sad songs into happy songs, to be an antidote to cynicism and offer some kind of feeling of unity and human warmth. But if you don’t feel that then it’s still very good entertainment.”

What merch do you bring?
“We’re bringing so much! Apart from the albums on CD and vinyl we also have special postcard flexi discs, a rare transparent flexi with a song that didn’t make it on the album, a supernice t-shirt with artwork by Klara Wiksten. And most of all we’re bringing the specially made perfume that I’ve made in collaboration with Collect & Bottle, a reconstruction of the scent I’m singing about in “What’s That Perfume That You Wear?””

Which song do you prefer performing live?
“Right now I’m excited about all the new songs. “Wedding In Finistere” has become a new live favourite and also “How We Met, The Long Version”.”

How have your most recent concerts been?
“They’ve been great. We’ve toured for eight weeks now and we’ve been completely exhausted and knocked out by various flues and colds. But still, every night is magic. It’s all because of 1. the band and 2. the crowd.”

How would you describe your backing band?
“I want there to be someone on stage for everyone in the crowd to identify with. So I have a headbanging rock ‘n’ roll bassist (Hanna), a groovy perfectionist pop/R&B drummer (Julia) and a cool techno/electronica keyboardist (Emelie). It’s like with the boy/girl bands of the 90’s – there’s gotta be someone on stage to look at and feel like “that’s me up there!”.”

Which live act (band and/or artist) is your favorite – and why?
“I always try to go see Jonathan Richman before I go on tour to remind myself of what a show should be about – communication, inspiration, magic in the moment. And this time we managed to catch him in Houston just the day before the tour premiere. He went on 25 minutes before he was supposed to and just yelled out “we’re here to play music so let’s start the show!””

How would you describe your new album, “Life Will See You Now”?
“A very happy album about very difficult and sad subject matters.”
