What can the audience expect from the show?
“A lot of power and energy, heavy grooves, I’m coming to dance with you!”

What merch do you bring?
“I have both of my albums “Magic Trix” & “Black Terry Cat” on vinyl, CD and t-shirts designed by the great Ana Benaroya.”

Which song do you prefer performing live?
“Really all of them, but maybe right now I’m feeling “Laugh Clown”.”

How have your most recent concerts been?
“Before coming to Europe I did a national tour of the US which was extremely fun, got to visit a lot of new places and some favorites like New Orleans, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, L.A. and then finished it off with a show at my favorite venue in New York, Bowery Ballroom. The audiences were great- lots of jumping & dancing. I just started tour in the UK, the shows in Manchester & London were a lot of fun.”

How would you describe your backing band?
“I am currently playing as a power trio. I’m on voice, keyboard and sampler. Marco Buccelli plays drums, MPC and sampler. Jack Hill plays bass, Moog, and guitar.”

Which live act (band and/or artist) is your favorite – and why?
“I don’t have a favorite. I got to see Mount Kimbie last year and really enjoyed how seemlessly they fuse electronic & acoustic elements. I also really enjoyed Deantoni Parks, it was really cool to see him play finally after having listened to his solo drum albums for a while. A few years ago I saw MIA perform, on nights when I’m feeling tired or ugly, I think of her and pretend she’s there to see me play and helped me pick my outfit.”

How would you describe your album “Black Terry Cat”?
“Rough elegance.”

What are your plans for the summer and autumn?
“I’m playing quite a bit this summer, festivals and shows in the US and coming back to Europe as well for North Sea Jazz. Fall is a work in progress, planning to write new music when I’m not touring.”
