What can the audience expect from the show?
“Some new songs, some old Preston School Of Industry songs, some old Pavement songs, some surprises. It’s gonna be fun.”
What merch do you bring?
“Two different t-shirt designs. a trucker hat. a tour poster signed by me. and the records and CDs.”
Which song do you prefer performing live?
“I love them all, but “Angel Eyes” and “Dance Off” of “Doris & The Daggers” are really fun. and the Pavement ones are really cool too.”
How have your most recent concerts been?
“Great! Warsaw the other night was epic. Great fans and cool vibes.”
How would you describe your bandmates?
“Larry is grumpy. Matt is funky. Luke is smashing it. And i’m just spiral. Tim who played keyboards with us had to go home early.”
What do you think of the other act this evening, Canshaker Pi?
“Love them. Great songs and great guys. Reminds me of early Pavement when we first toured Europe with Sonic Youth.”
Which live act (band and/or artist) is your favorite – and why?
“Roxy Music. Invented music we love today.”
How would you describe your new album, “Doris & The Daggers”?
“A journey from the depths of despair to the heights of love and hope. Great sounds too.”
What are your plans for the winter and the spring?
“Going back to Mexico where I live. Then off to Australia and New Zealand for a tour. Then back to Mexico and hopefully start recording a new Spiral record early next year.”
“Doris & the Daggers is settled in an appealing way. Kannberg eases into a collection of classicist guitar pop that recalls vintage ’80s college rock from New Zealand and Australia, but also bears some resemblance to the sharp, knowing pop of Kelley Stoltz, who functioned as a part-time collaborator on the record.” (AllMusic, 2017 – læs hele anmeldelsen)
